2020 Celebrate Australia – Primary School Art Competition and Free Workshops!

As part of 2020 Australia Day celebrations, Gladstone Regional Council is calling for entries in the Celebrate Australia Primary School Art Com petition. Open to ALL 2019 primary school aged students in the Gladstone Region, the competition asks students to consider ‘w hat and who makes Australia great’.

Entries must be on a sheet of A4 paper and can be drawn , painted or collaged in two sections of
entry: Section One: Prep to Year 2 and Section Two: Year 3 to Year 6.

To assist budding artists with their entries, three FREE workshops with local artist Andreia Pereira, are on offer. Basic materials are provided just bring your art gear and great ideas.

Each workshop will be held from 10.30am to 12pm at the following venues during December 2019:
Tuesday, 17th, QCWA Hall, Mt Larcom
Wednesday, 18th, QCWA Hall, Tannum Sands
Thursday, 19th, Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum

Artworks will be judged by Gallery & Museum Manager & Curator Cameron Curd. Award winning artists will receive some fantastic prizes including their works printed as 2020 Gladstone Regional Council  Australia Day commemorative postcards and a Gladstone Cinemas FAMILY Pass (2A & 2C).

Entries must be delivered to the Gallery & Museum by 4pm, Friday 20 December 2019. Winners  announced during Gladstone Regional Council ‘s Australia Day celebrations, Saturday, 26 January 2020.
