Member for Gladstone Glenn Butcher announced this morning that a re-elected Palaczszuk government would invest $97 million state-wide to install solar on the roofs of more than 800 of the state’s 1239 schools.
He said the roll-out of the landmark solar energy program over the next three years will save $10.2 million a year on energy costs across the state and reduce schools’ carbon footprint.
“This is a great initiative of the Labor Government that will save schools thousands of dollars every year,’’ Mr Butcher said.
“This is clear proof of a government committed to reducing our carbon footprint.”
