19 May Life and Business Transformation
A small group of Gladstone business owners, passionate professionals and media gathered at an intimate ‘on the couch’ session last week featuring Judy Reynolds author of Transform Life & Business 140 Characters at a time.
The group took some time to talk about business goals but also some important aspects of lifestyle with the strong message – Winning in business doesn’t mean losing in life: you can have both.
Carla-Jayne Smith owner of Runway 7 Boutique hosted the event and said while her passion is building confidence through fashion she was always looking to learn new elements of business and share stories.
‘It’s important to have a guide in business to make sure you are growing and learning how you can be better’.
Some lessons in the session included building a tribe and the type of people who will help you get to the next level. Also to aim for a meeting of the numbers and mind to make a more profitable business.
Owner of Locations Estate Agents Alicia Williams attended and said ‘It was lovely to reconnect with Judy and discuss opportunities in business and the importance of identifying your higher purpose to live a well-balanced life.’
Judy Reynolds made a special trip in to see owner of Gladstone News, Karina Brindley. They shared a coffee and conversations about the myth ‘work life balance’. Rather than aim for an impractical goals, Judy believes in ‘Intentional Imbalance’ and not getting sucked into the ‘I want what she has’ mindset. Karina admitted that while she has two young children and two young businesses there seems to be lots of pressure on women and business people to live a perfectly balanced life.
Karina said, ‘Every day is different. If you are a stay at home mum or business owner, kids get sick, staff get sick and life happens. A perfect balance is a false reality and we often just need to congratulate ourselves on getting through busy lives and be proud of our achievements’. ‘The visit from Judy Reynolds was exciting, helpful and inspiring and I am all about growth in business particularly when it comes to innovation and digital technology.’
Judy has helped some of the biggest CEO’s in the country change lifestyle habits and become the most effective leader possible so it was a wonderful opportunity for the business community to welcome her expertise for a visit.
