The Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ) has declared the results for the Local Government Election of the Gladstone Regional Council Area. This follows the 2024 local government elections that were held on Saturday 16th March and included elections for Mayors and Councillors in each of Queensland’s 77 councils.
Amidst palpable anticipation, the Gladstone region found itself gripped by the outcome of this year’s council election as the final results trickled in. Following a meticulous tallying process, the community’s voice has been heard, and the roster of newly elected council members has been unveiled. Re-elected unopposed for the Mayoral candidate is Matt Burnett.
Our Councilors are:
• Natalia Muszkat, with 24,418 votes,
• Glenn Churchill with 24,028 votes,
• Karen Davis with 23,865 votes,
• Kahn Goodluck with 23,247 votes,
• Mellissa Holzheimer with 22,228 votes,
• Michelle Wagner with 21,258 votes,
• Leanne Patrick with 19,355 votes,
• and Simon McClintock with 19,059 votes.
Their victories underscore a diverse representation of the community’s preferences and priorities.
Acknowledgement is also extended to the remaining candidates, namely Chris Cameron, Jessica Bray, Murray Peterson, Michael Fearns, Paul Van Meteren, Craige Tomsett, and Ben Noll, whose commitment and participation in the electoral process are commended.
