Milestone for Wards Brewery: Winning a major international Beer Award 

Gladstone is continuing to grow through a series of milestones, with Ward’s Brewery’s latest international award marking a major win for the region. Gladstone and Central Queensland’s craft brewing scene has been recognised on the international stage, with Ward’s Brewery taking out Best International-Style Pale Ale at last night’s 2026 Australian International Beer Awards. 

The award-winning Pale Ale from Ward’s Brewery was named the best in its category at the internationally recognised competition run by Melbourne Royal, which attracts entries from breweries across Australia and around the world. For Ward’s Brewery owner Michael Comley and Head Brewer Paul Bergamini, the win represents a significant milestone not only for the brewery, but for Gladstone’s growing reputation as a destination for quality craft beer and hospitality.
