August - The Relay for Life held on the oval at Chanel College working towards a cure for cancer and supporting sufferers and survivors.

January – Sarah Chivers wins Young Gladstone Sportsperson of the Year at the Australia Day awards

February – Toolooa state high celebrate International Womens Day by electing four female school captains in 2017

March – Cyclone Debbie induces panic buying amongst the bread and milk consumers in town.

April – Black Jack wins the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race and Mayor Matt Burnett brings back the beloved Yachties Party

May – The 1770 Festival where Chris Aboitiz from SUP DOG OZ sets a new world record of dogs on a stand-up paddleboard!

June – Arguably more popular than our own show, the Mt Larcom show drew large crowds in June.

July – The kick-off to NAIDOC week at Barney Point

August – More than 2500 people competed in the Gladstone Ports Corporation’s Botanic to Bridge charity run in August

December – The Gladstone Ports Corporation announces plans for East Shores Stage 1 B including this incredible floating pool/boat pontoon…WE CAN’T WAIT!
