Tips And Products From Australian Sports Nutrition To Help You Live A Long, Healthy Life

With Women’s Health Week just around the corner, it’s time to think about how to live your healthiest life possible.

Tip 1: Move

Moving your body is the easiest way to make a huge difference to the quality of your life. Research suggests that even 30 minutes of exercise daily can improve health, with 70 percent of physically active people reporting better sleep quality. Other statistics suggest that exercise puts you at a lower risk for cancers, diabetes, heart disease and stroke. Exercise can also help reduce the risk of mental illnesses like depression. Ignore those excuses as to why you don’t want to exercise, and think about everything you have to gain instead!

Tip 2: Protect your bones

It’s never too early to start thinking about keeping your bones strong! There’s a variety of things you can do to maintain bone health including regular exercise, and maintaining healthy levels of calcium, Vitamin-D and protein through a healthy diet and lifestyle.

Tip 3: You are what you eat

Many diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, heart disease, and high cholesterol come as a result of poor diet and food choices. Fortunately, these diseases can be monitored and kept at bay by maintaining a healthy, nutrient-rich diet.

Tip 4: Sleep

It’s not uncommon to feel as if you aren’t getting enough sleep, with women more likely to experience insomnia and sleep-related issues than men. Long term results of poor sleep quality can involve obesity, diabetes, mental illness, dementia, heart disease and more. Sleep can be managed by creating a non-negotiable bedtime, taking care to not eat brain-boosting foods before bed, and ensuring your hydration levels are met during the day and not before going to sleep.

Tip 5: See your qualified health professional

Early detection is key for many health conditions. Plan appointments ahead, whether it be for your GP, Dentist, Chiro, Psychologist, or Optometrist, and encourage the other women in your life to do the same. If you need support, ask someone close to you to accompany you, or join the free ASN Women’s Chat to connect with like-minded women from all over Australia.

Evolve Collagen:

Collagen is the most abundant protein in your body, making up over a third of your body’s total protein. It also makes up 75% of your skin, 70% of joint cartilage, 90% of tendons and ligaments, and 30% of your bones, essentially making it the ‘glue’ that binds your body together. Collagen provides strength and elasticity to your skin, binding cells together and making your skin appear youthful and healthy. While collagen production begins to slow down as we age, you can always source it from your diet! Evolve Collagen can be consumed with water, or added into your favourite smoothies, soups or baked goods.

Gut Performance:

Being aware of your gut health is incredibly important as it can help reduce bloating, digestive discomfort, and support immune health. Gut health dictates a number of functions within your body including appetite, hormone regulation, vitamin and mineral absorbency and digestion, among many other things. Gut Performance is a 100 percent natural concentrated food that is designed to reduce bloating, and restore your gut microbiome to a healthy environment. Simply mix one scoop with water, or add it to your favourite smoothies!

Switch Nutrition- Adrenal Switch:

Magnesium is involved in more than 600 reactions in the human body, but more than 75 percent of Australians are deficient.  From supporting healthy brain development, memory and learning, to helping regulate muscle contractions (minimise muscle cramps), supporting sleep quality and more, Magnesium is extremely beneficial for everyone, irrespective of gender. Adrenal Switch is a vegan magnesium formula designed to help with stress reduction and muscle recovery. After training or before bed, simply dissolve one serving in 300-500mils of water.
