The Queensland Government is reinforcing support for first home buyers through significant enhancements to the First Home Owner Grant scheme. The updated incentive involves a doubling of the First Home Owner Grant, elevating the total grant to $30,000 for qualifying first home purchases.
This boost, effective for transactions entered into on or after Monday, 20 November, positions Queensland with the highest First Home Owner Grant in Australia, tripling the grants offered in New South Wales and Victoria. Approximately 12,000 buyers are expected to benefit from this doubled grant by 30 June 2025, the set expiration date.
