In its seventh year, the White Party has become a beloved tradition in Gladstone, drawing together a vibrant community in support of the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF). Originally conceived as a ‘girls’ night in’ to honour the memory of Marilyn Steel’s mother, who passed away from ovarian cancer over a decade ago, the event has grown from a small gathering of 30 friends and colleagues into a major fundraiser, now attracting up to 120 guests.
Hosted this year by the Junction Café at Tondoon Botanic Gardens on Saturday, 7 September, the White Party is the only OCRF fundraiser of its kind in Central Queensland. Each event raises approximately $10,000, making a significant contribution to ovarian cancer research, a cause that remains critically underfunded.
