From 1 August, Queensland’s real estate landscape has officially changed with the commencement of the Property Law Act 2023. The new legislation introduces a mandatory seller disclosure regime, designed to improve transparency and streamline the property contract process for buyers and sellers alike.
Under the new rules, sellers are now legally required to provide a disclosure statement and a series of prescribed certificates before a buyer signs a contract. This shift means buyers no longer need to rely solely on their solicitors or conveyancers to obtain critical property information after a contract has been signed.
