Gladstone locals Jodie and Skye Broomham were spotted graduating together from the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) Recruit School recently, following the family footsteps of two daughters and a son currently serving, as they marched out together as part of GE447 Emms Division’s graduation at HMAS Cerberus, making them possibly the first mother-daughter duo to graduate at the school in the same division.
SMN Jodie Broomham originally began her journey at the recruit school back in 2024 but returned home midway through training due to family circumstances. With the support of her husband, she was able to return and finish her training.
