The Gladstone Touch Association is kicking off a new initiative aimed at bringing people from diverse cultural backgrounds together through touch football. The multicultural “Learn to Play” program has been designed as a non-contact and inclusive introduction to the sport, giving participants the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of touch football in a welcoming environment.
Running over seven to eight weeks, the program will cover essential skills including passing, rucking and general fitness, with sessions led by representative-level players. Training will take place on Thursday nights from 6 pm to 7.30 pm under lights, providing participants with a regular opportunity to develop their skills, meet new people and become involved in the local sporting community.
