Often the younger generation gets categorised as a group that are screen obsessed and self-obsessed but not here in Gladstone. Four local 13-year-old girls have proven that smart, ambitious and kind is actually how young people are.
Over the weekend Summer, Samarah, Brooke and Tayla pictured with Mayor Matt Burnett, tirelessly worked in order to raise money for the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital. Together, these 13 year old girls planned and organised a Children’s Fun Day event. They found an amazing sponsor in Bororen Produce who provided all the food and drinks. Great fun was had by all with a visit from the Miriam Vale Police who were kind enough to show off their car and equipment. A huge thankyou to Senior Sergeant Jane Healy for helping also to the Bororen hall committee for use of the great venue. The Bororen people were amazing, fully embracing and supporting the event. These young ladies are a credit to their generation and it’s great to see they have the support of the Mayor and community.
