Creative Team ready to go ‘Under the Sea’ at 2024 Combined Schools Musical

The creative team has been chosen and the show has been cast for the 2024 Combined Schools
Musical, set to be performed from 9-10 March and 12-17 March 2024 at Gladstone Entertainment
Convention Centre (GECC).

Disney’s The Little Mermaid has been chosen as next year’s production offering musical fans a
chance to escape reality and take a deep dive under the sea.

Eight shows will be performed, split between public shows and school shows, with 74 students from
18 schools participating.

Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said the chosen Creative Team have a wealth of knowledge
when it comes to delivering successful Combined Schools Musicals and Community Musicals.

“Hannah Rodda previously directed The Wizard of Oz in 2020, while Clare Evans provided
choreography for Legally Blonde in 2021 and will have Laryssa Anger beside her as assistant
choreographer for Disney’s The Little Mermaid,” Councillor Burnett said.
“Leanne Christensen and Annie Hooper were involved in this year’s production of Grease, Robyn
Addison provided vocal coaching for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Shannon Whitby was the
stage manager for Gladstone State High School’s recent production of Head over Heels.
“All of our talented creatives will bring their own unique abilities to Disney’s The Little Mermaid in
what’s expected to be a colourful show jam-packed with entertaining scenes and memorable
musical numbers.”
