Spring into Disability Action Week!
‘SpringABILITY’ celebrates Disability Action Week and promotes inclusion through a day filled with fun activities and entertainment.
This event for all community members will be held on Thursday 13 September from 1pm to 5pm at Lions Park on Dawson Highway.
The newly completed all abilities play park, offers the perfect environment for the day, with its bright and fascinating sculptures and sensory features designed specifically for the enjoyment of residents and visitors with sensory auditory and visual impairments.
Come along and join in the activities. Collect information on what services and supports are available in our area.
Incredible Edibles will be providing delectable food choices and a delicious Sausage Sizzle will be provided by Boyne Island Lions Club along with other food and drink choices – all available from 1pm – 5pm.
Octopus, a fantastic local band will provide entertainment on the day. The Calliope Signing Choir, the CPL Choir and our local drumming group will all be there. Why not try your hand at drumming. Join us in the fun!
SpringABILITY celebrates and promotes inclusion and diversity in our community.
At 4pm the event will recognise companies who practice inclusion as part of their everyday business, with the announcement of the winners of the Inclusive Employer Awards. If you know a business who deserves an award for being inclusive employer contact us for nomination forms. Nominations must be received by 5 September.
