Local teens Max Ferguson and Logan Peachey have been selected to attend the U18 Australian Squad Training Camp in Canberra, where they will spend four days training amongst some of the best young softballers in the country, as they chase final selection in the U18 Australian team that will compete at the 2027 World Championships in Havlíčkův Brod and Ledenice, Czechia.
Max and Logan have spent the past few years representing Queensland and, in January 2026, were members of the Queensland U16 team that won Gold at the Australian National Championships. More recently, they represented Queensland at the U19 School Sport Australia Championships in Sydney, where Queensland again claimed Gold. In the final against NSW, Max took the mound as pitcher with Logan behind the plate as catcher, with the pair forming a dominant battery as Queensland secured the Gold Medal.
