22 Apr Meet Carey…
THE Gladstone News and Elevate Media teams would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest addition, Journalist Carey McIntosh.
Originally from South-Africa, Carey grew up in Brisbane, where she went to The University of Queensland to study Journalism.
She moved to Gladstone after finishing her studies and landed her first job (as a Cadet Journalist) with The Observer.
Carey ended up leaving Gladstone after a couple of years, following her now husband around the country to places like Port Hedland (WA) and Narrabri (NSW).
Two children, many career opportunities, and six moves later, Carey and her family found their way back to Gladstone in 2018.
“I love community news, and I’m passionate about the role it plays in connecting people,” Carey said.
“Which is why I am thrilled to join the Gladstone News Team in bringing good local news stories to our region.”
In her spare time Carey moonlights as a chauffeur to her daughters, is completing a Diploma of Counselling, and her guilty pleasure at the moment is watching Bridgerton on Netflix.
Carey likes to pretend she enjoys gardening – she doesn’t.
If your business, not-for-profit, sporting group etc. has a story to share with the rest of the Gladstone Region, contact Carey on news@gladstonenews.com.au.
She only works part-time, so don’t get upset if she doesn’t reply to you straight away.
