Alpha HPA, a Central Queensland company at the forefront of producing ultra-high purity alumina for high-tech industries, is being spotlighted in a national campaign celebrating Australia’s shift towards a net zero economy. The Bringing New Energy to Australia campaign, led by the Australian Government’s Net Zero Economy Agency, highlights the critical role businesses like Alpha HPA play in the country’s energy transformation.
The campaign aligns with the commencement of construction on Alpha HPA’s new 10-hectare, state-of-the-art facility in Gladstone. Expected to be completed by 2027, this facility will become one of the largest alumina refineries globally, producing 10,000 tonnes of high-purity alumina annually. These materials are essential for a wide range of high-tech electronics, including LED lighting, semiconductors, and lithium-ion batteries, which are key to the future of electric vehicles (EVs).
