On Sunday, the First Nations Youth of the Gladstone Region celebrated a major milestone with a ‘Rites of Passage’ event, honouring the achievements of Year 12 students as they transition from high school to adulthood.

The community-led ceremony, hosted by the First Nations Working Group of Gladstone Region engaging in action Together (GRT), brought together over 100 locals at the Philip Street Communities and Families Precinct. This culturally rich event emphasised the importance of staying connected to family, friends, culture, and community as these young adults step confidently into the next stage of their lives.
