The 1911 flood in Gladstone and Burua 

Early in 1911 a rain depression moved down the east coast of Queensland, bringing heavy rain to many areas. On the 3^{rd of} February 1911, Gladstone and the surrounding district experienced this downpour, and locals likened it to a cloudburst. This deluge brought floodwater down the main street, inundating the pavements and going high on business entrances. Mr Doblo, a professional photographer, who had a shop in Goondoon Street, found a good subject right outside his own front door when floodwater was roaring down the gutter. He also took photos of the Clyde Creek area, and these were made into postcards. This rainstorm flooded Clyde Creek and waterlogged the Clyde Hotel and the Clyde School. It also caused many washouts on the Boyne Valley Railway Line.
