George Parkyn, emerging local artist and founder of FND Artworks, recently held workshops for guests and staff on Heron Island. The Artist in Residency role was made possible through a grant approved by Gladstone Regional Council Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF).
During the two-week project 44 workshops were scheduled with 506 attendees participating which included staff working on Heron Island. As a thank you to the Heron Island Management and Staff, George created a 5-piece canvas mural “Hands on Heron” and donated over $250.00 worth of paints and materials for the staff to continue the legacy George started them with.
