Next Friday night join the Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO) for a free family evening of superb outdoor entertainment at the Gladstone Marina Stage. Symphony Under the Stars is presented by QSO and the Gladstone Regional Council and will feature some of the state’s finest classical musicians.
Conducted by QSO Conductor Laureate Maestro Johannes Fritzsch the presentation will take the audience on a journey around the world and back. Travel to North America, Europe and Asia, stopping along the way to hear popular works from continents, countries and everything in between.
QSO’s Community Engagement Manager Judy Wood says:
“There’s nothing like the sound of a live orchestra performing, so I’d encourage everyone to bring their family and friends, pack a picnic and enjoy a magical night under the stars with QSO.”
“Following a series of hands-on workshops for local students earlier in July, our musicians will return to Gladstone in August to present a special education concert for schools, as well as this much-anticipated and popular free community concert.”
Mayor Matt Burnett said Gladstone Regional Council was pleased to present the free community concert, in partnership with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO) and sponsors.
Students will also be treated to a special schools concert at the Marina Stage on Friday morning as well. For more information on the schools program contact QSO Education Officer Pam Lowry on 07 3833 5035.
The QSO’s performance in Gladstone is thanks to support from Australia Pacific LNG as part of the Gladstone Enrichment through Music (GEM) Initiative, an innovative partnership between Australia Pacific LNG and QSO that delivers quality musical education and experiences to people in regional Queensland.
