Having Fun For The Community

On Saturday the Benaraby Progress Association, in conjunction with Gladstone Regional Council organiSed a Family Day for the community.

The Progress Association hopes that funding will be forthcoming from the council for infrastructure, play equipment and facilities for both the public and the local community to utilize.

Approx 200 people attended, with free jumping castles and bubble soccer for the kids and free old fashioned games such as egg and spoon, sack races with Dad’s participating in a tug o war. The council kindly donated prizes for the winners and local businesses generously donated vouchers and gifts for our raffle. The proceeds of which will go back to the progress association so they can organize more community activities in Pioneer Parklands. Some events in the planning are Christmas in the Park, Community Garage Sale and Movie Nights.

Local stallholders also displayed their services/wares and there was entertainment from Veils of Arabia Belly Dance and Bernie’s disco.
