The Lifestyle Church, Salvation Army and other local Gladstone Churches joined forces to put on a free family event on Goondoon Street on Sunday the 18th of December. With free carol services, face painting, jumping castles, popcorn, fairy floss, petting zoo, food and drinks available, the event was a true blessing for the Gladstone community.
There were 3 carol services throughout the afternoon, with the 6pm service broadcasted live to the LCD screen at Light box for those who missed out on seats. Jessica Hill from the Gladstone Lifestyle Church said this event was the first of its kind and was hatched from a monthly meeting held by all the local churches.
“The Lifestyle Church had planned to hold the Christmas in the City event and the Salvation Army do Hampers of Hope, at the monthly meeting the discussion started about combining the two initiatives, and from there other churches became involved too” Jessica said
With smiling faces, merry laughter and some carol sing-a-longs, all who attended were truly experiencing the Christmas spirit. A big GN thank you goes out to all involved!
