TANNUM CRAB CLASSIC LINKS KIDS WITH iPADS

By Madison Hughes

The Tannum Crab Classic began as just a few mates raising funds to provide medical equipment to children with disabilities. Today, it’s an annual event that over 2000 local community members have gotten behind to brighten up the lives of disabled children in Gladstone.

A Family Fun Day, Girls Night Out and a Crab-Catching Camp were all part of the fun of the Classic in April when an incredible $30,000 was cooperatively raised to support children with disabilities.

Now proceeds from the funds raised are being allocated to a great giveaway, giving children with a disability a chance to win an iPad.

From August 2018 to March 2019, one name will be drawn each month revealing the lucky winner of the iPad, with the second-place winner receiving movie tickets.

iPads have several learning benefits for special needs children: they are engaging, fun, simple to use, therapeutic, and can assist in building social awareness for the child. They’re also great for organisation.

The Gladstone Community Linking Agency proudly works in partnership with the Tannum Crab Classic in support of Gladstone’s community members with disabilities. They strive to help people with disabilities to become independent and achieve their goals.

If you are eligible and wish to enter the draw for an iPad, contact the Gladstone Community Linking Agency on 07 4972 8855.
