School Holiday Adventures – A day in Rockhampton
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Just an hour and a half up the road, Rockhampton has lots of fun things to do. Often somewhere we just travel to for appointments Rocky has some cool attractions. Here are some you could visit in the holidays.

  • Capricorn Caves – Capricorn Caves has shared its magic and splendour with people for well over 100 years. Visitors can choose from a range of exciting and immersive experiences including daily wheelchair-accessible guided cave tours, wild caving adventures, abseiling, high ropes courses and team building initiatives. There are environment-themed tours that incorporate Queensland Museum’s palaeontology dig site and marine fossil caves. For more info visit http://capricorncaves.com.au
  • Fitzroy Adventure Playground  – The Riverside Precinct’s new state of the art playground is sure to keep the kids, and adults, entertained for hours on end. The Fitzroy Adventure Playground also encompasses sails and umbrellas to provide shading and a terraced seating area on the upper playground.
  • Koorana Crocodile Farm – Koorana Crocodile Farm was established in 1981 as Queensland’s first commercial crocodile farm. The Lever Family has worked hard to grow the farm to a commercial level now holding over 5000 crocs. The farm has a restaurant and operates two tours each day. For more information visit www.koorana.com.au
  • Rockhampton Zoo – Rockhampton Zoo is nestled within the Botanic Gardens and adjacent to the Murray Lagoon in Rockhampton. At the Zoo you will discover more than 60 species of native animals from across Australia and exotic animals from around the world. Rockhampton Zoo is free and open daily from 8am to 4.30pm.
  • Ten Pin Bowling – Rocky Bowl and Leisure have some great deals planned for the school holidays. Visit https://rockhamptontenpinbowl.com.au/school-holidays/ for more information.
