Milly Sharpe, acclaimed racewalking champion, showcased her prowess at the Australian and Oceania Road Walking Championships held in Adelaide early February this year. Competing in the under 18’s 5 km girls’ race, Milly surged ahead to claim victory with an impressive 33-second lead, achieving a personal best time of 26 minutes and 53 seconds. “Milly loves her race walking, and it is an absolute passion. She loves training with Shane Peterson’s squad in Brisbane whenever she can and certainly enjoys walking Park Runs as part of her training.”

Looking ahead, Milly dreams of representing Australia on the international stage, adorned in the iconic green and gold colours. “Whilst Australia has amazing depth in race walking, she would love to compete Internationally and wear the green and gold.” Milly’s achievements have not gone unnoticed with her being nominated for the 2024 GRC Australia Day Young Sports Person of the Year Award, barely being beaten out by her brother, Ethan Sharpe.
