The 2025 Central Queensland Hockey League (CQHL) has wrapped up for another year, and what a season it was for our local teams. Hockey fans from across the region flocked to matches throughout the season, with games played across Gladstone, Rockhampton, and Bundaberg from March through to the grand finals in August. The league once again delivered fast-paced, top-tier competition, showcasing the depth of talent in Central Queensland.

Gladstone had plenty to cheer about, with the Meteors men’s side storming home to claim the 2025 CQHL Premiership. Their skill, determination, and teamwork came to the fore in a hard-fought grand final, earning them well-deserved glory on the biggest stage of the season. Adding to the excitement, Meteors star Tyson Shailer was named the CQHL Best & Fairest Male Player – a fantastic personal achievement that highlights the calibre of athletes Gladstone continues to produce.
