The Boyne Tannum community has reached an important milestone in local health and safety with the installation of the region’s first outdoor accessible Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The project, driven by the Boyne Tannum Local Ambulance Committee (LAC), marks a significant step toward ensuring life-saving equipment is available to the public around the clock.
Located in a central, accessible area, the AED provides 24/7 access for residents and visitors in the event of a cardiac emergency. Quick access to a defibrillator can dramatically increase the chances of survival during sudden cardiac arrest, making this installation an invaluable resource for the community. The addition of this AED means help is now closer than ever before, even in those critical first few minutes when professional medical support has yet to arrive.
