Boyne Island Environmental Education Centre staff travelled down to Currumbin on the Gold Coast to take part in a two-day support staff conference. Business Manager Lauren, Teacher Aide Nicole, and Cleaner Emily joined around 80 support staff from 25 Outdoor & Environmental Education Centres across Queensland, who came together for the inaugural 2026 OEEC Support Staff Conference.
The special gathering shone a spotlight on the strategic & practical work that keeps Outdoor and Environmental Education Centres operating safely, effectively and sustainably; from statewide systems and processes to health and safety, managing unique sites, facilities and operations, wellbeing, First Nations connections and caring for Australia’s natural environments.
