Bringing the Community Together: Boyne Tannum Senior Citizens Morning Teas Continue to Grow

What began as a simple idea to create connection and community has blossomed into a much-loved monthly event for seniors in the Boyne Tannum area. Spearheaded by Graham and Trish Lindner, the Senior Citizens and Community Morning Tea was established in July 2023 to provide a welcoming space for local seniors to socialise, relax, and enjoy a fun morning out.

After careful consideration and community consultation, it was decided that the second Tuesday of each month (excluding January) would be the ideal time for the event. With generous support from the Boyne Island Lions Club, Gladstone Regional Council (for use of the Port Curtis Room at the Boyne Community Centre), and many local businesses, the first morning tea was held in October 2023—welcoming 22 guests.
