The Byellee Waters Golf Course Master Plan is one step closer to reality, with Gladstone Regional Council currently assessing a development application that proposes a multi-purpose recreational and tourism precinct. The application, submitted by Clava Limited and prepared by Place Design Group, was lodged on December 14, 2023, and formally accepted on December 18, 2023.
The proposal seeks preliminary approval for a Material Change of Use, including a variation request to override the current Our Place Our Plan Gladstone Regional Council Planning Scheme 2015. Additionally, it includes plans for an 18-hole golf course, mini golf, driving range, environment facility, function venue, food and drink outlets, market space, and a tourist park. The application underwent public notification from July 29 to September 13, 2024, with one formal submission received during this period.
