Last week marked a historical moment as Fortescue officially inaugurated Australia’s first commercial-scale hydrogen electrolyser manufacturing facility. Premier Steven Miles declared, “Fortescue’s Gladstone Electrolyser Facility is not only a Queensland first, but also an Australian first – right here in our backyard.”
Situated at the forefront of the Aldoga Industrial Estate in the Gladstone Region, this facility marks the initial phase of Fortescue’s ambitious Green Energy Manufacturing Centre project. With an initial production capacity exceeding 2 gigawatts per annum, it is set to significantly amplify global production, capable of yielding over 200,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually at full capacity.
