Former Gladstone athlete Jack Ireland recently brought home both silver and bronze after competing in the Men’s S14 200m Freestyle at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Headlining a strong start for the UQ Swimming Club athletes, Jack’s performance followed a dream Paralympic debut in 2024 in Paris, where he returned with a bronze medal in the same event and a silver in the mixed S14 4x100m Freestyle Relay. He also made his world championships debut in London in 2019, where he finished 8th in the 200m Freestyle S14, placed 4th at Madeira in 2022 and claimed his first world championship medal in the event (bronze) in Manchester in 2023.
