Mackenzie May, born and raised in Gladstone, is now an inspiring rising musician in country music. Mackenzie’s biggest motive to start her music journey was the support of her family and the artists she grew up listening to. Mackenzie’s parents helped her grow in confidence as well as believe in herself. One of Mackenzie’s Grandparents was also a country musician in the 80s and 90s; his love for country music inspired Mackenzie as well as his own music.
Mackenzie’s first milestone as a rising musician was winning a Queensland Music Award. This was a very defining moment for Mackenzie as the relief of all her hard work was finally being recognised on a larger scale. Her most recent milestone was performing on stage at the Country Music Channel Rocks (CMC), Australia’s biggest Country Music Festival. This was such a surreal moment for Mackenzie, stepping onto the stage and singing her own songs to a crowd of thousands. Naturally, Kenzie was nervous that no one would show up, but instead she had a large line of fans wanting to meet Kenzie, buy her merch, and even have her sign their guitars and purses. This ended up being one of the most memorable moments for Kenzie.
