Great Keppel Island Investment Signals a Bright Future for Central Queensland Tourism 

The Central Queensland region’s exciting new chapter, with Great Keppel Island set to benefit from a significant wave of investment to strengthen its appeal and enhance visitor experiences. At the heart of this transformation is a combined investment package that includes a $1.8 million commitment from the Queensland Government through the Tourism Icons Investment Fund, alongside a broader $1 million upgrade initiative that will directly improve facilities at Great Keppel Island. These upgrades will be felt most strongly at the Great Keppel Hideaway, where key hospitality spaces, including the bar, reception, and communal areas will undergo a major renewal. The Bistro Renewal Project is expected to elevate the island’s main hospitality hub, creating a more welcoming and vibrant space for both day visitors and overnight guests.
