Gladstone is preparing to come together in celebration and reflection for NAIDOC Week 2025, which will run from 6–13 July. This annual event honours the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and this year marks a significant milestone: 50 years of NAIDOC Week celebrations.

The theme for 2025, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,” shines a spotlight on the powerful role of young Indigenous leaders. It acknowledges their strength in carrying forward the vision of their communities while honouring the rich legacy left by their ancestors. It’s a call to celebrate the enduring resilience of First Nations peoples and to look ahead with hope and determination.
