For Gladstone’s budding filmmakers, the school holidays are an ideal time to get busy on their submissions for the Capricorn Film Festival with the deadline for submission extended until October 23.
You have lots of spare time on your hands, your friends have lots of time to help you with your vision (i.e. carry gear, scream in the background, be extras) and by the end of the holidays you’ll be ready.
The founder of the Capricorn Film Festival Luke Graham, says the date for submissions has been extended until October, for four categories of film, including a competition for primary school students:
BEST SHORT FILM
The next generation of feature filmmakers begin here with the Best Short Film category. Winner receives $1000 AUD. Length restriction is 10 minutes.
CAPS OPEN
Open to Central Queensland residents over the age of seventeen years of age. Winner receives $1000 AUD. Length restriction is 10 minutes.
CAPS JUNIOR
Open to Central Queensland residents under the age of seventeen years of age. Winner receives $1000 AUD. Length restriction is 10 minutes.
CAPS #LOVETHEREEF
Open to Central Queensland primary schools and students. Winner receives $1000 AUD. Length restriction is 5 minutes.
Dates are being finalised for the Festival which will be held in mid-December.
