Toolooa Students Collaborate With Wheelchair Philanthropy Project  

Making a difference for children in underprivileged communities internationally, Toolooa State High School Students and members of the Gladstone Sunrise Rotary group came together as part of the Bikes to Wheelchairs Project to decorate and assemble bright, colourful wheelchairs for children with disability abroad.  

The Year 12 students, who were part of the Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA) learning program, had the opportunity and challenge of creating wheelchair designs that would bring both practical support and joy to the children receiving them. After being invited by Rotary member Graeme Bartlett, the TSHS students were able to learn hands-on skills while creating meaningful support for disadvantaged communities.
