After recognising that many people struggled to navigate the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme when seeking medical or surgical care outside their closest hospital, Shelly made herself available in a voluntary advocacy role in Glenn Butcher’s office to help families through the process, many of whom had found themselves facing sudden, serious health issues.
