Walz Construction Celebrates 50 Years of Growth, People and Local Legacy in Gladstone 

This year marks a major milestone for the Gladstone region as Walz Construction celebrates 50 years since its founding by Colin and Desley Walz. What began in 1976 with a small subcontracting opportunity at Gladstone Power Station has grown into one of the region’s most enduring construction businesses, built on hard work, strong relationships and a commitment to quality that has stood the test of time. 

From its earliest days, Walz Construction established itself as a trusted local contractor, providing skilled labour and practical support to major engineering and construction projects across Central Queensland. Over time, that foundation has evolved into a diverse and highly capable organisation known today as Walz Group.
