On Wednesday the 26th of October the Boyne Tannum Men’s Shed and RSL Sub Branch are hosting an information session and BBQ in support of Veterans Health Week. Commencing at 10am, the session will include presentations by William Taylor (a local MHPE) and by a Department of Veteran Affairs representative. The aim is to raise awareness and understanding on the risk of suicide with our veterans.
The event is one of many around the nation for Veterans Health Week. Veterans’ Health Week this year will be held from the 22nd to the 30th of October with the theme ‘Social Connection’. The week is an opportunity for veterans, war widows, widowers, current and ex-Australian Defence Force members and their families to participate, connect and influence the health and wellbeing of themselves and their friends.
Held at the RSL Community Hall in Tannum Sands, the session is open to the public with a BBQ at the end of the event, and the RSVP date is Monday the 24th of October. You can RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
