20 Mar $170,000 announced for Rosella Park School Playground
What a fantastic day in Gladstone, while everyone will be talking about the cruise ship in town there is another big story that is a huge win for our community.
At 11am this morning Minister for Education and Tourism, Hon. Kate Jones along side Member for Gladstone, Glenn Butcher announced they have awarded $170,000 to replace the Rosella Park School playground.
It currently has barbed wire fencing, uneven grounds and MP Glenn Butcher stated that he was shocked when a parent of the school brought it to his attention. He has been an advocate for this upgrade to happen and when he took it to MP Kate Jones they have been able to make a postitive change.
MP Kate Jones said ‘its an outdoor classroom and the kids need a safe learning environment’ she looks forward to seeing the new playground being built for the children to enjoy.
Principal Kate Russ said ‘the kids are looking forward to a new place to play once the upgrades happen, they started on Friday and we are excited for the new Rosella Park School playground.’ She also thanked both Kate Jones and Glenn Butcher for making it happen.
Great news all round.
