The 30th Golding Showcase: Port Curtis Calliade Valley Youth Art Exhibition officially opened recently, celebrating the artistic talents of local high school students. This year’s exhibition featured a diverse array of artworks, each reflecting the creativity and perspective of the young artists from the region. 

The highlight of the opening was the announcement of the first prize winner, who received a generous $500 award. Jacinta Bennett’s captivating piece, “The Illusion of the Perfect Self,” stood out among the entries. The artwork explores the theme of striving for an idealised version of oneself, a concept that resonated deeply with Curator Claire and the judging panel.
