One of the Gladstone Region’s biggest musical events returned in 2023, with the Agnes Blues, Roots and Rock Festival drawing in over 1600 attendees from around Central Queensland and interstate, with an artist line-up consisting of familiar faces and new talents.
After the event was forced into cancelation in 2022 due to the global pandemic, sights were set on ensuring it would return the following year. Amber Rogers, President of the Discovery Coast Tourism & Commerce Group, a part of the team involved with bringing the festival to life, stated that in order to deliver another successful event, they had to “keep the experience for every single patron top notch”. “We were trying to make sure that everything was refined, organised and not over the top”. Speaking of festival layout, the iconic marquee that provides shade for the event and the facilities provided to all ticket holders, Amber reiterated that “we want to everyone to be accommodated”.
