First Nations Community Dinner to Strengthen Disaster Preparedness 

In a celebration of cultural pride and community unity, the Gladstone region is gearing up to host a First Nations Community Dinner, inviting the local First Nations communities to come together for an evening of connection, collaboration, and learning. The event aims to foster relationships between the First Nations peoples of Gladstone and key local leaders while providing vital disaster resilience information.  

The dinner, a key initiative in building stronger, safer communities, is centred on enhancing disaster preparedness within the region’s First Nations population. As natural disasters can have unique and profound impacts on Indigenous communities, this event will address the particular needs and strengths of these communities, helping them to better respond to and recover from potential crises.
