Council to host breakfasts across the region to thank volunteers

Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said a Recognition Breakfast would be held at Agnes Water, Gladstone City and Miriam Vale to thank volunteers and to celebrate National Volunteer Week.

The national week extends from May 9 to 15 with the theme ‘Give Happy Live Happy’.

“The Gladstone Region proudly boasts hundreds of volunteers who freely give of their time and skills, or offer valuable companionship to others,” Councillor Burnett said.
“Volunteers are a tremendous asset to the community and their dedication and devotion to assist offers a helping hand to groups and organisations.

“National Volunteer Week is the ideal time to pay tribute to our volunteers, to acknowledge their efforts, and to let them know that their community contributions are very much appreciated.”

Council will partner with Conservation Volunteers Australia (all three events), Discovery Coast Rotary (Agnes event) and Miriam Vale SES (Miriam Vale event) to host the breakfasts.

Recognition Breakfasts will be held from 7am to 9am on:
Tuesday, May 10 at Miriam Vale Community Centre
Thursday, May 12 at Agnes Water Tavern
Friday, May 13 at Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre

RSVPs are required by Tuesday, May 3.
