11 Feb CQ Beer + Cider Festival | Out & About
Central Queensland’s Beer + Cider Festival has wrapped up for another year.
Running for the past two years, the CQ Beer + Cider Festival is one of Gladstone’s must-do events featuring over 45 different varieties of beer and cider along with fantastic live entertainment.
Despite 2021’s very strict COVID-19 restrictions, this year’s festival saw just under 1,500 attendees including vendors and dedicated volunteers, which was an increase of one-hundred from last year.
Event organisers were excited to see the event move to a new and exciting location in 2021 – GPC Marina Parklands at 30 Lord Street, Gladstone.
With the addition of new Sunshine Coast brewers, Heads of Noosa & Diablo Co, and the introduction of new competitions such as The Keg Throwing and The Sh*t Shirt Competition, this year’s event was a huge hit amongst festival-goers.
Event organiser Jemma Tangohau said,
“The whole team were really happy with this year’s event. With any event, there is always room to grow and improve but we plan to be heading into 2022 with an even bigger and better event! With the focus on lots of extra shade and hopefully some great new brewers on board.
“Events like the CQ Beer + Cider Festival are really important to the community. This event, in particular, is really integral to our organisation as all funds raised go straight back into staging the Annual Gladstone Harbour Festival. This allows our committee to continue to deliver the iconic Annual Gladstone Harbour Festival free of charge to the community.”
