A major renewable energy project is on the horizon for the Gladstone Region, with the proposed Eurimbula Solar Farm—formerly known as the Rodds Bay Solar Farm—set to deliver a significant boost to Queensland’s clean energy transition.
Located near Bororen, approximately 50 kilometres south of Gladstone, the project will feature a 696-megawatt (MW) solar farm, supported by a 666-MW/1,332-megawatt hour battery storage system. Key infrastructure will also include a 33/275 kilovolt substation and a grid connection via existing 275-kV transmission lines, ensuring the project is ready to feed clean energy directly into the state’s power network.
