AFTER decades tucked away inside a council building wall, a much-loved colony of bees named after a former Gladstone mayor has been safely relocated, ensuring their sweet legacy continues while giving the colony a fresh start.
The hive, believed to be more than 30 years old, was affectionately named after former Gladstone City Mayor Col Brown (1927-1994), who served from 1979 to 1994 and was known for his passion for bees.
